Talah Al Sharkawi has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Throughout her years as a student, she has developed a passion for and experience in the world of data and risk and safety management. Her interests led her to the decision to continue her studies in a Master’s of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering at Dalhousie University. As a Maritimer, Talah is fascinated by shipping dynamics and the potential risk it may cause to the waters. Her concern over the current environmental changes and its risk has led her to focus on her research in the effectiveness of an oil spill response plan. In order to study the effectiveness of oil spill response measures, considering different spill types, clean-up technologies, human, and environmental conditions, Talah is interested in creating a sub-model to aid in the support of decision making on oil spill response effectiveness.
