Jose Ancona-Segovia


Jose completed his undergraduate studies in Mechatronics Engineering at Universidad Tecmilenio in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. After completing his studies, Jose received a scholarship from The Mexican Chamber of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies (CANIETI) and Secretaría de Investigación, Innovación y Educación Superior de Yucatan (SIIES) to participate in a Summer Research Program at Texas A&M University. Jose’s research was related to detecting weak radar signals in the presence of powerful jammers employing Pseudo-Random Signals.

After that, Jose worked as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry for three years for clients like SAFRAN, GE, Pratt and Whitney, and others. Jose performed Internal Audits according to ISO 9001 and AS9100 and developed KPI indicators to measure performance in manufacturing processes.

In January 2021, Jose started studying at Dalhousie, pursuing a Meng. Industrial Engineering degree and joined the MARS team in September 2021. Jose is currently constructing a database for network modeling applied in natural disasters.
